History on Stage

I perform in-character, in-costume one-man shows as Teddy Roosevelt, baseball's Branch Rickey, golf's Bobby Jones, as well as writers H.L. Mencken, G.K. Chesterton, and George Orwell. Each of these presentations is an effective combination of education and entertainment. Each is interactive in that audience members can ask unrehearsed questions of these historical figures. I am both the author and the performer of these shows which makes it possible to add this unique dimension. Each show is full of solid information and great fun.

I began doing this sort of thing in the classroom (as a college history teacher) and have been taking some these shows 'on the road' for about twenty years. TR and Mencken are the oldest. Chesterton and Rickey are about a decade old. Orwell and Jones are recent additions.
