Jim Gray began dancing upon his dad's urging in junior high school. He's fully immersed himself in a wide variety of styles since that time including but not limited to international latin, square dance, argentine tango, and round dance. He currently competes professionally with his partner Sunnie in the dances cumulatively known as the international standard. Jim continues to invest in his dancing and the dancing of his students by training regularly in New York City and London with his partner Sunnie.
Sunnie Page loved to dance growing up. She began her ballroom career learning exclusively American rhythm and smooth styles. She switched to international style when she met her partner Jim in early 1999. In just three years they placed first nationwide in bronze, silver, gold, novice and prechampionship levels at national championships. To train and compete with the United States' and Worlds' best couples, Sunnie and her partner Jim travel annually to western and eastern Canada, New Jersey, Connecticut, California, Utah, Florida, New York, Minnesota, England, Nevada, and more.
Jim Gray and Sunnie Page are the most successful amateur ballroom dance competitors in the history of our state. We are now the only international standard couple in Oregon currently competing internationally and professionally. We regularly recieve coaching from Jonathan Wilkins and Katusha Demidova, Christopher Hawkins and Hazel Newberry, Michael and Vicki Barr, Bob and Barbara Grover, Len Armstrong, and many more Blackpool (World Championship) Finalists and Winners.
