The group was actually founded as a bar band in 1983 (with one sax player), almost 1 year to the day after John Belushi's untimely death. In the next year the group's popularity rose quickly when the boys played a Dallas festival sponsored by Adolph Coors Brewing Company, with proceeds from the event benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
