Lisa Kahn is known for her dramatic and musical interpretations, and works to bring awareness of the harp through her freelance work and performances. She completed her Masters of Music with Ann Yeung, editor of the World Harp Congress Review, at the University of Illinois School of Music in May of 2011, where she received a full scholarship. Kahn began studying harp at the age of 12 with Patricia Masri-Fletcher, principal harpist of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. She continued her studies with Gillian Benet Sella, principal harpist of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music in 2005, on scholarship. Lisa performed in the Accent Musical Festival at the College-Conservatory of Music in 2007, where she performed with small and large ensemble. She also attended the Saratoga Harp Colony in 2007, where she studied under Elizabeth Hainen, principal harpist of the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra. Upon completion of her undergrad uate studies in the spring of 2009, Lisa accepted a position at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan, where she performed at least twice daily as a solo harpist. Lisa served as an assistant for the Illinois Summer Harp Class in 2010. She also participated in the Summer Harp Workshop with Isabelle Perrin in Traverse City, Michigan in 2010, and will attend in 2011. She was also a prize winner at the Harp Days! Orchestral Competition held at Michigan State University in January, 2011 and competed in the Lyon and Healy awards competition in June, 2011 in Denton, Texas..
