Jay began singing as soon as he could talk and started playing guitar in 1989. He made a name for himself in 1995 by touring S. Kora and Japan. In 1998, he hit the Philadelphia music scene with his own band, In Step, a Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix tribute, and The Buicks, a 6-piece blues band.
